Saint Honoré
Claude Trudon becomes the proprietor of a shop situated on Rue Saint Honoré in Paris. Here, he introduces an array of offerings, including spices and wax candles, setting the stage for the brand's enduring legacy.
1702
Manufacture
Michel Brice Péan de Saint Gilles founds the manufacture for the whitening of waxes and the manufacturing of candles in the town of Antony, south of Paris.
1719
Royal Supplier
Elevated to the status of royal supplier, Trudon becomes the sole candlemaker ever to hold this prestigious title.
1737
Growth
As the heir to Trudon, Jérôme Trudon purchases the Royal Wax Manufacture in Antony. Under his stewardship, the manufacturer revitalizes and refines the art of producing pristine white beeswax. Trudon adopts the motto "Deo Regique Laborant," meaning "They work for God and the King," with "they" referring to the bees.

The manufacture supplies the Imperial court of France.

World Exhibition
The Carrière brothers, successors to the Trudon family's legacy and renowned for their expertise, are awarded a gold medal for the innovative advancements they have introduced with their candles.
